Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has officially sold one million copies of her self-titled album! This means that Queen Bey has made history because her platinum status comes after releasing an album with no prior promotion whatsoever. Not to mention that the album was strictly on the digital platform in full album form when it crossed a millie just five days after its release. Now that physical copies of the album are on shelves, her sales will surely increase! Congrats to Bey!
Although Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom had pre-nups drawn up during their marriage, it looks like Khloe will get a hefty amount of cash for their divorce settlement anyway. Rumor has it that Khloe will make about $7 million by divorcing Lamar. Reports say that Khloe will make $500K for every year that she and Lamar were married. Since they were married for a total of four years, that automatically insures her $2 million. Plus, Khloe gets to keep all gifts, including her $1 million 12.5 carat diamond wedding ring, as well as the $4 million Tarzana mansion. The Kardashians clearly know how to win.
Shaunie O’Neal, creator of the Basketball Wives franchise, has apparently been trying to launch a new reality TV show. In this VH1 series, titled "The Shaunie Project," her children would be the stars. Just as Shaunie began closing the deal on the reality show which features her life with her five children, her ex, Shaquille O’Neal, snatched the rug from underneath her by saying "Over my dead body." Shaq doesn’t mind Shaunie’s new show, but he does not want his children being filmed. Understandable. On last Thursday morning, an LA judge rejected Shaunie’s bid for an emergency order to film her kids for the show. I’m with Shaq on this one. Though Shaunie’s angle for the show might be a positive one, unlike Basketball Wives, putting the children under unnecessary scrutiny might not be for the best.
Mariah Carey’s recent performance for Angolan President José Eduardo Dos Santos has rubbed people the wrong way. The Human Rights Foundation claims Dos Santos has murdered many and exploited the country’s resources to his own gain. And he reportedly used country resources to pay Mariah $1 million to perform a two-hour concert at an event for the Angolan Red Cross. Mariah was also seen smiling with the President and his family on Facebook posts. She has yet to respond to the backlash.
In other Beyoncé news, Queen Bey has that she is also the Queen of Surprises. She recently surprised Wal-Mart shoppers in Tewksbury, MA by grabbing the P.A. system phones, greeting shoppers and handing out $50 gift cards to the entire store. There were over 750 shoppers on sight, which brought her total to a whopping $37,000! Of course I feel that this was a master shady move on Queen Bey’s part, seeing that Target chose not to carry her new album because she released it exclusively to iTunes. The surprise trip and giveaway to Wal-Mart guests was her way to one up Target, continue promotion for the album, as well as to show gratitude towards Wal-Mart for its continued support. Can this woman be more perfect?!
Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade are officially engaged! The Miami Heat baller proposed and she said YES! Gabby posted a photo of her huge rock on Instagram with the caption: "Sooooo this happened... #Yessss" Dwyane posted the same picture with the caption: "She said YES!!!" This precious proposal comes just months after most had something negative to say about Dwyane gifting Gabby with a championship ring instead of an engagement ring. Well, jokes on you! Congrats to the beautiful couple!
