Each year the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute exhibit is kicked off with the Met Gala. This annual ball brings all of the stars out in their finest couture to enjoy a glamorous evening. Though there were a few designs that caught my eye there was a clear winner in my book of who stole the show this year and that would be Mrs. Blake Lively. The ambassador for Gucci Première wore a custom Gucci Première mermaid gown. The design featured tons of embroidery and rose-gold detailing. The blush colored chiffon draping and scarves that fell off each shoulder definitely gave Blake that old Hollywood Glamour look. Below is a number of looks that made my list which wasn’t limited to gowns. I can appreciate a fashion risk being taken here and there. In addition to the 2014 Met wins I spotted a couple looks worn by Kim Kardashian, Giovanna Battaglia, and Jennifer Lawrence that deserved a shout-out this week. Finally to address the “pink elephant in room”...or perhaps “elevator” would be a more appropriate term...frankly...it’s none of my business so I’ll leave everyone else to it.
