This Week in Fashion...

She will refrain from making this week’s Fashion all about Lupita N’yongo. This doesn’t mean that I didn’t spot Lupita in some amazing looks. It just means I will take a millisecond break from coveting her closet and give props to others winning in fashion.

My outfit of choice until reaching high school was athletic pants and an oversized T-shirt. Even then I really thought I was winning. That was until I started watching “Sex and the City” and ‘Miss Carrie Bradshaw’ made fashion fun. I was so happy to see Sarah Jessica Parker in a Tracy Reese flared design. The black ¾ length sleeved textured dress fit snugly and flared at the waist.  As only Sarah can do she paired this relatively modest look with a pair of polka-dot leggings and a pair of Manolo Blahnik booties.

How amazing is Miranda Lambert looking these days? The country singer stunned on the red carpet of the Grammy awards in a red Pamella Roland gown. The design featured a plunging neckline, sheer shoulders, and satin waist embellishments. She accessorized with minimal jewelry, a red sparkly clutch, and of course her adorable husband Blake Shelton.

Olga Kurylenko was spotted on the front row of Elie Saab’s Spring 2014 Couture show. She looked like a doll in Elie Saab from head to toe. She wore a lacy green dress with matching sandals and a golden clutch. Yes please.

I adore the Michaels Kors dress Octavia Spencer wore to the 14th annual AFI Awards Luncheon. The Crayola green and black pleated design looked amazing with the leopard print accessories she completed the look with. Down to the single bracelet and white manicure Octavia had it going on.

Yes, you are having a déjà vu moment. The Christopher Kane design Jennifer Hudson wore to Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy Gala we have seen before. I had to mention it this week because frankly she wore it best. She style the colorful off-the-shoulder black mini dress with an orange Rodo clutch,  Louboutin pumps and just won.

Ciara was seen on the red carpet of the 2014 MusiCares Person Of The Year Gala honoring Carole King. Ciara chose a Lanvin Homme pinstriped navy metallic suit. Though I didn’t have space to show here, her Grammy look was beautiful as well. Ciara is certainly a fashionable expecting mother.

Yes, Channing Tatum is married and Jenna Dewan-Tatum is his wife so everybody calm down. Jenna was seen in a beautiful Zac Posen strapless floral design at the ELLE’s Women In Television Celebration. Along with the structure drama you’d expect from Zac Posen Jenna completed her look with a pair of nude Brian Atwood ‘Tamara’ strappy sandals, a sparkly Oroton clutch, and EF Collection and Jennifer Meyer frosting.

Vanessa Hudgens attended her ‘Gimme Shelter’ premiere looking glamourous in a Monique Lhuillier design. She carried an Edie Parker clutch and sported gold frosting with the black embellished gown. Flawless.

Though Taylor Swift aka Tay Tay arrived in a Gucci gown to the Grammys she changed into a beautiful Alberta Ferretti design for her performance. An embellished bodice peaked through the multilayered chiffon gown. Jeweled shoulder detailing and yards of fabric gave off a very ethereal vibe as she on the piano bench. (On a sidenote...Tay-Tay I appreciate your enthusiasum during Kendrick Lamar & Imagine Dragons performance. That’s how you listen to music.)

There is nothing new about seeing Madonna in a suit. But there is something new and incredibly adorable about her and her son David wearing marching suits and top-hats to the red carpet of the GRAMMYs. They both sported designer Ralph Lauren. Young David held his own on the red carpet next to famous Mom who accessorized with a cane due to a dance injury and brought out her beloved grill. Cute clothes. Too bad her foolishness on Instragram was not cute and just might overshadow this moment. Stick to clothes and music Madonna and stay away from words you don’t understand.

Okay can we take a moment to acknowledge how talented Pink is? Not only did she do another acrobatic routine during her performance…SHE SANG LIVE AND UPSIDE DOWN come on now people!!! Everyone needs to be taking notes. Back to fashion…I am a fan of her red carpet look. She wore a crimson red corset inspired strapless Johanna Johnson design.

Beyoncé opened the show. Hey Mrs. Carter! Finally, Kendrick Lamar & Imagine Dragons had the best performance of the night and Kendrick should have won. The end.
