George Zimmerman has had yet another run-in with the law. Zimmerman was acquitted in July of murdering teenager, Trayvon Martin and has recently been arrested in Florida after deputies responded to a “disturbance call" for allegedly attacking his pregnant girlfriend.
Zimmerman was arrested at about 1 p.m. on Monday by the Seminole County Sheriff's Office.
He will be transported and booked into the John E. Polk Correctional Facility. Because his girlfriend is pregnant, the domestic charge is automatically charged as a felony.
The sheriff’s office said that they will be releasing the arrest report and 911 call as soon as they are available.
A spokesman for Mark O’Mara, the lawyer who represented Zimmerman in the murder trial, said, “Mark O’Mara is not representing George Zimmerman in today’s matter or any new matters, and as such it is not appropriate for him to make any comments.”
Zimmerman was arrested in September and released without charges after his wife called 911 claiming that Zimmerman punched his father-in-law in the nose and threatened to shoot him and his wife.
Zimmerman later claimed that he was acting in a “defensive manner” during the incident and police later added that they never found a gun on Zimmerman.
He was also pulled over for speeding, once in July and once in September. During the stop in July, he told the officer that he had a gun in his glove compartment and the officer let him off with a verbal warning.
