How the top Houston area football players fared in Week 3

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Offense

Michael Haywood, Westside

Quarterback, 5-11 180 Sr.

Haywood was 13-22 passing for 187 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran the ball 14 times for 190 yards and 3 touchdowns in their 72-13 victory over Kempner.

Defense

Xavier Smith, Waltrip

Defensive Back, 5-9 160, Jr

Smith had 7 total tackles, 2 pass deflections, and 2 interceptioins for 12 return yards in Waltrip’s 34-7 victory over Austin.

OFFENSE

QUARTERBACKS

Trevon Smith 5-11 180, Jr.  Smith completed 9 of his 11 passing attempts for 155-yards and three touchdowns.  He also ran 13 times for 117 yards to lead his team to a 45-42 victory over Memorial.

Camreyon Jackson, Milby 6-0 165, Jr. Jackson was 28-37 passing for 393-yards and three touchdowns.  He also ran the ball 14 times for a touchdown in Milby’s  47-29 loss to North Forest.

JaMarcus Anderson, North Forest, Sr. Anderson was 6-12 passing for 69-yards.  He also carried the ball 10 times for 134 yards and two rushing touchdown in their 47-29 win over Milby.

RUNNING BACKS

Tavon Dodd, Reagon 5-7 185, Sr. Dodd carried the ball 9 times for 233 yards and three touchdowns in Reagan’s 63-14 victory over Wheatley.

Malik Jarmon, Waltrip 5-5 150, Jr.  Jarmon rushed the ball 20 times for 156-yards and three touchdowns in Waltrip’s 34-7 victory over Austin.

Juwan Duckworth, Chavez, Sr. Duckworth carried the ball 21 times for 141 yards and two touchdowns in Chavez’s 53-24 loss to West Brook.

DeAnte Atkinson, North Forest, Sr. Atkinson rushed the ball 19 times for 118 yards and three touchdowns in North Forest’s 47-29 victory over Milby.

Cleveland Bailey, Sharpstown, Sr. Bailey rushed the ball 15 times for 112 yards and two touchdowns in Sharpstown’s 44-12 victory over Davis.

 

WIDE RECEIVERS

Ryheem Malone, Bellaire, Sr. Malone had 6 catches for 105 yards and three touchdowns in Bellaire’s  45-42 win over Memorial.

Devaun Chachere, Milby, So. Chachere had 9 catches for 137 yards and one touchdown in Milby’s 42-29 loss to North Forest.

Everick Austin, Milby 6-1 175, Sr.  Austin had six catches for 79 yards and one touchdowns in Milby’s  42-29 loss to North Forest.

Patrick Roberts, Reagan 5-10 180, Jr. Roberts had four catches for 101 yards and one touchdown in Reagan’s 63-14 win against Wheatley

DEFENSE

Caleb Robertson, Westside, Sr. Robertson had 5 tackles, 2 pass deflections, and 2 interceptions for Westside in their 72-13 win over Kempner.

Malik Wilis, Westside, Sr.  Willis had 5 tackles, 1 sack,  and 2 pass deflections in Westside’s 72-13 victory over Wheatley.

Kenneth Davis, Westside, Sr. Davis had 2 tackles, 2 sacks, and 1 forced fumbled in Westside’s 72-13 victory over Wheatly. 

Distinct Athletes

Jacob Guitierez, Westside 5-9 170, Jr.  Guitierez returned a punt for 76 yards and a touchdown against Wheatley.  He also had 11 carries for 100 yards and one rushing touchdown along with 1 catch for 6 yards.

Chuck Graves, Waltrip, So. Graves, a sophmore, intercepted a pass and ran it 95 yards for a touchdown in Waltrip’s 34-7 win against Austin.

Due to inclement weather, many of the games scheduled for this past week were cancelled.  Because of this, some of your teams may not have been included in this week’s team of the week.
