How the top Houston area football players fared in Week 4

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Offense

Yzerick Oliver, Worthing

Wide Receiver, 5-10 165 Sr.

Oliver had six receptions for 186-yards and three touchdowns.  He also had a 81-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in Worthing’s 63-24 win over Washington.

Defense

Bradley Cunningham, Westside

Linebacker, 6-2 220, Sr

Cunningham had 7 total tackles, 3 sacks, 1 pass deflection, 1 forced fumble and 1 tackle for a loss in Westside’s 43-14 win over Chavez.

OFFENSE

QUARTERBACKS

Alfred Robertson, Worthing, So.  Robertson completed 13 of his 17 passing attempts for 364-yards and three touchdowns to lead his team to a 63-24 victory over Washington.

Avery Davis, Furr, 6-0 175, Sr. Davis was 9-18 passing for 182-yards and three touchdowns.  He also ran the ball 14 times for a touchdown in Furr’s  42-18 victory over Jones.

Darrell Colbert, Lamar, 6-0 185, Sr. Colbert was 4-5 passing for 109-yards.  All of his completions were touchdowns (four).  His contribution led to Lamar’s  55-0 win over  Westbury

RUNNING BACKS

Floyd Green, Wheatley, Sr. Green carried the ball 29 times for 238 yards and one touchdown in Wheatley’s 12-7 win over Milby.

Malik Jarmon, Waltrip 5-5 150, Jr.  Jarmon rushed the ball 12 times for 114-yards and six touchdowns in Waltrip’s 62-0 victory over Lee.

Lorean Easley, Westside, Jr. Easley carried the ball 17 times for 165 yards and two touchdowns in Westside’s 43-14 win over Chavez.

Damonte Thomas, Davis 5-9 160, Jr. Thomas rushed the ball 24 times for 156 yards and one touchdown in Davis’ 31-20 victory over Austin.

Brandon Hayes, Yates, Sr. Hayes rushed the ball 13 times for 115 yards and one touchdown in Yates’s 40-6 victory over Sterling. 

WIDE RECEIVERS

Traveon Auzenne, Worthing, Sr. Auzenne had five catches for 156-yards and two touchdowns in Worthing’s  43-14 win over Chavez.

Stacy Piro, Furr 5-10 160, Jr. Piro had 4 catches for 126 yards and one touchdown in Furr’s 42-18 victory over Jones.

Ma’Cajah Freeman, Yates,  Sr.  Freeman had four catches for 125 yards and two touchdowns in Yates’s  40-16 victory over Sterling.

Jamaine Boyd, Sam Houston, Jr. Boyd had four catches for 114 yards and two touchdowns in Sam Houston’s 82-20 loss to Bellaire.

LeBradford Carr, Jones, Sr. Carr had 3 catches for 116-yards and one touchdown as Jones fell short to Furr 42-18.

DEFENSE

Robbie Dobbs, Westside, Sr. Dobbs had six tackles, three tackles for a loss, and one interception for Westside in their 43-14 win over Chavez.

Glenn Anderson, Lamar 5-11 180, Sr.  Anderson had six tackles, one tackle for a loss,  and one pass deflection in Lamar’s 55-0 victory over Westbury.

Malik White, Westside, Sr. White had eight tackles, three tackles for a loss, one forced fumble and one pass deflections in Westside’s 43-14 win over Chavez.  

Michael DeRouselle, Lamar 5-10 180, Sr.  DeRouselle  had eight tackles and one tackle for a loss in Lamar’s 55-0 victory over Westbury.

Distinct Athletes

Trevon Smith, Bellaire 5-11 180, Jr.  Smith returned a fumble four yards for a touchdown against Sam Houston.  He also completed 5 of 8 passing attempts for 120 yards and two touchdowns.
