How the top Houston area football players fared in Week 5

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Offense

Michael Haywood, Westside

Running Back, 5-11 180 Sr.

Haywood completed 7-of-11 passes for 174-yards and four touchdowns.  He also ran the ball six times for 132-yards and one rushing touchdown in Westside’s 67-13 victory over Westbury.

Defense

Sherman Coleman, Westside

Linebacker, 5-11 180, Sr

Coleman had 5 total tackles, 2 sacks, 21 forced fumbles, and 1 tackle for a loss in Westside’s 63-17 win over Westbury.

OFFENSE

QUARTERBACKS

Alfred Robertson, Worthing, So.  Robertson completed 15 of his 28 passing attempts for 214-yards and four touchdowns.  He also ran the ball 10 times for 23-yards  to lead his team to a 36-22 victory over Kashmere.

Trevon Smith, Bellaire, Jr. Smith was 7-15 passing for 145-yards and two touchdowns.  He also ran the ball 8 times for 53-yards and a touchdown in Bellaire’s  42-7 victory over Madison.

Camren Allen, Sharpstown, Sr. Allen was 4-8 passing for 81-yards.  He also ran the ball 11 times for 118 yards to lead Sharpstown to a 34-9 win over Wheatley.

RUNNING BACKS

Tavon Dodd, Reagan 5-8 180, Sr. Dodd carried the ball 14 times for 226 yards and four touchdowns in Reagan’s 56-20 win over Milby.

Frank Johnson, Jones, Sr.  Johnson rushed the ball 20 times for 193-yards and one touchdown in Jones’ 38-21 victory over Sterling.

Neal Blacklock, Washington, Sr. Blacklock carried the ball 28 times for 183 yards and one touchdowns in Washington’s 55-7 loss to Furr.

Damonte Thomas, Davis 5-9 160, Jr. Thomas rushed the ball 13 times for 184 yards and three touchdowns in Davis’ 58-0 victory over Lee.

Brandon Foster, Furr 5-11 185, Sr. Foster rushed the ball 7 times for 147 yards and three touchdowns in Furr’s 55-7 victory over Sterling.

 WIDE RECEIVERS

John Dixon, Sterling, Sr. Dixon had five catches for 137-yards and one touchdown in Sterling’s 38-21 loss to Jones.

Bobby Hartzog, Westside 6-1 185, Sr. Hartzog had 2 catches for 110 yards and one touchdown in Westside’s 63-17 victory over Westbury.

Malcolm LaFleur, Reagan,  Sr.  LaFleur had five catches for 76 yards and one touchdown in Reagan’s  56-20 victory over Milby.

Traveon Auzenne, Worthing, Sr. Auzenne had 7 catches for 96-yards and one touchdown in Worthing’s 36-22 victory over Kashmere.

LeBradford Carr, Jones, Sr. Carr had 3 catches for 90-yards and one touchdown in Jones’ 38-21 victory over Sterling

DEFENSE

Bradley Cunningham, Westside, Sr. Cunningham had 10 tackles with three tackles for a loss in Westside’s 63-17 win over Westbury.

Malik Willis, Westside, Sr.  Willis had four tackles, three of which were tackles for a loss in Westside’s 63-17 victory over Westbury.

Caleb Roberson, Westside, Sr. Roberson had seven tackles, one interception and one pass deflection in Westside’s 63-17 win over Westbury.  

Distinct Athletes

Ryheem Malone, Bellaire 5-9 175, Sr.  Malone returned a punt 88-yards for a touchdown.  He also caught one pass for 55-yards for a touchdown.

Everick Austin, Milby 6-2 185, Sr. Austin returned an interception 32-yards for a touchdown.  He also caught two passes for 23 yards.
