The Playaz Invitational Tournament holds their annual Event in Houston, Texas

The Playaz Invitational Tournament was established by a group of golfers from New York and grew into a national event by attracting players from different states. William Devine and Frederick Thompson, where actually a part of a separate group by which many of today’s Playaz principles evolved. Jay Watson, Jai Wallace, and Hugh Duncan along with Willie and Fred as charter members have grown the Playaz Invitational into what it is today.

The Playaz inaugural tournament was played in the summer of 1997 at Bergen Point Golf Club in West Babylon, New York using the Callaway system. The intent soon became to escape from the cold winters of New York to warmer weather for great golf and good times.

The Playaz get together annually for golf, good company, great food and laughs during a 4 day weekend. The Playaz Invitational is contested over 3 rounds of golf on the finest golf courses near major cities. The Playaz has been contested in New York, Port St Lucie, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Orlando, Phoenix, Atlanta and Los Angeles.

The Playaz is an indexed event. But you don’t have to have a USGA index to compete; although it helps. All Playaz indexes have been determined by at least 3 consecutive rounds at the Playaz Invitational. The first year for a new Playa aka New Jack is a vesting period, used to verify your handicap. The low net New Jack is recognized. Separately, there is a traveling trophy for the Playaz champion, and money prizes for 50% of the field.

Our group knows how to have fun, is committed to creating longstanding personal relationships for business and pleasure. "We’re young professionals, entrepreneur’s and etc.", said Jai Wallace. We work hard, and play hard both on and off the golf course.

The Playaz Invitational Golf Tournament will be held in Houston Texas this year beginning on April 3, through April 5, 2014.

The courses selected for play are:

Sienna Plantation Golf Club 6624 yds 71.1/127

Voted as the favorite course in Southwest Houston in the Houston Chronicle’s 2011 Golf Guide. Voted best public course in Fort Bend County in 2003.

WildCat Golf Club – Lakes 6525 yds 71.2/131

Water, Water Everywhere

Tee up on #1 and you think, "What water?" Be patient. On the Lakes course you start high. Its highest elevations – up to 100 feet – provide breathtaking views of Houston’s major sports complex – Reliant Stadium, home to the Houston Texans. As you work your way down you’ll see the water – acres of seemingly countless lakes. The Lakes’ dramatic elevation changes can be rivaled by no other course in Houston. Water comes into play on seven of the Lakes’ magnificent holes.

Blackhorse Golf Club - North Course 6615 yds 72.8/128

One of the top public courses in the state of Texas

Our courses are traditional in style, so you won’t find a lot of housing. What you will find is a lot of mature trees – majestic oaks, live oaks, and pine – that offer an aged feel to our courses, well beyond its 2001 inception. Our layout is superior and requires all the clubs in your bag. You can swing away with the driver on most holes, where others require careful consideration.

The Playaz Invitational will be establishing its first charitable fund for the Houston event. In collaboration with the Houston Forward Times, the Playaz will be making a donation to a local charity to be determined.
