The cream of the athletic crop gathered in Houston for the 2013 NBA All Star weekend. Celebrities and players brought their unique style to the city. While some rose to the fashion occasion with ensembles that hit nothing but net, others hit fashion bricks.
One of the standouts of the weekend for me was Carmelo Anthony. As expected Melo showed up with his most beautiful accessory, his wife, LaLa Anthony. From the press conference to post game autograph signing Carmelo stayed suited up and dapper. Melo had one tiny hiccup with a pair of shades he chose to wear during one of the games. Another contender for best dressed is none other than Kevin Durant. He took time to document his day and evening looks on Instagram which tells me a lot of thought went into his fashion choices. Whether casual or dressy KD kept it clean and classic and left a great style impression here in Houston.
Lebron James knew he brought his fashion A-Game as he coined the hashtag #itsjustdifferent all weekend on instagram. One of my favorite looks LeBron showed up and showed out with was his choice for the Sprite celebrity studded ‘Two Kings’ dinner he hosted with Jay-Z. Kevin Garnett and local Houston Rockets star James Harden made a couple of noteworthy fashion choices. Kevin looked great in the color-blocked scarf he paired with a dark grey blazer. James stood out with his blue blazer, checkered bowtie and thick-rimmed glasses (which seemed to be a theme among most players this year).
All in all I applaud the players for their efforts on and off the court and look forward to next year.
