From botched snaps to miscues on routes, the Texans looked all but polished as they wound up the last week of OTAs.
According to head coach Gary Kubiak, there’s going to be a little bit of that here and there. “We had a lot of mistakes probably because I gave them a little bit too much [to handle].”
There are a lot of very young players being thrown into the offense and defense. While Kubiak said he disagreed that the defense was ahead of the offense, he did note that he wanted to see how the young players responded.
“We’re throwing a bunch at them every day... to see who can keep up. [We are] trying to send a message to them of what they’re going to have to handle when we come back,” Kubiak said. “You expect some of these things. It’s interesting because you see some of them handle it and you see some of them struggling. We’ll sort it all out and get them into a position to compete in July.”
The Texans will begin minicamp next week starting June 11.
