Nothing kicks off the beginning of summer like graduation season. Yes, our graduates ascend from one stage in their lives to another, usually marked by a graduation ceremony. Well, the Houston Forward Times had their fair share of this season’s graduations as three of their own ascended. No need for formal introductions here. Our own, Chelsea Lenora White aka Chelsea Blanco graduated, Cum Laude from Loyola University in New Orleans, and Nykayla “Tootie” Richards graduated from Westside High School and plans to start on a Bachelors Degree in Nursing in the fall. And last, but not least, Preston Joseph Pierre graduated from his Kindergarten program and is well on his way to 1st grade.

KTSU JAMMIN’ GOOD TIME
Over 300 people gathered last Friday night at the Doubletree Hotel, in downtown Houston, as KTSU threw its Annual KTSU party/jam. Ain’t no party like a KTSU party! Too many people to name and I don’t want to leave anyone out, but check the pictures out below.
WHISPERS IN THE WIND (A little dirt for the day)
The latest hot mess on social media recently? I think a particular letter that spread around the internet like chickenpox has the spiritual community in an uproar. Well, I am going to keep my opinion to myself, but are you going to sow that $52.00 seed?
I also hear that one of the plushest “ghetto mansions” is up for sale in the Museum District.
They asking for 2 million dollars, phew! That’s a whole lot of money to invest with pookie ‘nem around the corner. The bigger question - is it divorce or downsizing because they are empty nesters? The street committee is all over it. Until next time, stay cool!
