MY NEXT LEVEL OF GROWTH WITH GOD
DISCOVERYING MY PERSONAL PRAYER POWER WITH GOD
September 25, 2011
Bible Fact: God has already prescribed in scripture how He will reveal Himself and His help to me.
Bible Text: II Chronicle 7:14
Aim: To lead students to improve their individual spiritual relationship with God through prayer and to experience more answered prayers.
"Our praying needs to be pressed and pursued with an energy that never tires, a persistency which will not be denied, and a courage that never fails." — E.M. Bounds
"The men who have done the most for God in this world have been early on their knees. He who fritters away the early morning, its opportunity and freshness, in other pursuits than seeking God will make poor headway seeking Him the rest of the day. If God is not first in our thoughts and efforts in the morning, He will be in the last place the remainder of the day." E.M. Bounds
D. Igniting my passion and pursuit of the power of prayer demonstrates my desire to experience God more.
1. The scripture reveals that my passion should begin daily in the morning.
The Bible makes it clear that God demands priority in my life (cp. Exodus 20:3). I can list at least three (3) things that giving God my attention in the morning does for the outcome of each of my days. Ps 5:3; 88:13; 143:8; Isa 33:2
2. My passion to please God by faith requires me to connect with Him. Jesus taught me to connect to God in Matthew 6:9-13. I can identify at least six (6) results in this scripture that happens when I pray to God.
3. Pursuing God in prayer through personal trials can move me to increase my trust in Him more. How did this father’s passion and pursuit of Jesus move him to his next level with God? John 4:46-5
