Martin leaving K-State for South Carolina job
Former Kansas State Wildcats head men’s basketball coach Frank Martin has agreed to become the head men’s basketball coach at the University of South Carolina Gamecocks.
Martin will replace Darrin Horn, who was fired two weeks ago after going 60-63 in four seasons. The Gamecocks finished last in the Southeastern Conference last year.
Martin is leaving Kansas State after leading the Wildcats to the NCAA Tournament four of the last five seasons. His overall record as a head coach is 117-54, and he is 6-4 in the NCAA Tournament.
Robinson heads men’s All-American list
University of Kansas Jayhawks forward Thomas Robinson was a unanimous pick for the Associated Press All-America team. Ohio State’s Jared Sullinger is a repeat selection. Others named to the team include: Draymond Green-Michigan State, Anthony Davis-Kentucky, Doug McDermott-Creighton, Isaiah Canaan-Murray State, Jae Crowder-Marquette, Marcus Denmon-Missouri, Kevin Jones-West Virginia, and Tyler Zeller-North Carolina.
Saban receive’s raise
Alabama Crimson Tide head football coach Nick Saban has received a pay-raise after winning his second National Championship in three years. The university’s board of trustees approved a two-year extension for Coach Saban that will run through January 31, 2020. Saban not only received a raise, but he also got a contract extension worth $5.62 million a year. Saban will received $5.32 million in 2012 with a $50,000 raise next year and id="mce_marker"00,000 annually after that.

Former UNLV men’s basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian had a mild heart attack. Doctors at a Las Vegas hospital decided to keep the former coach overnight for observation , despite originally planning to release him, a hospital spokesman said. The spokesperson said that he was doing very well.
