Kickoff 4 Kids is a series of motivational youth-centered activities that foster self-esteem inspiration, and academic scholarship. The series include mentoring camps, movies and motivation, as well as scholarships.
The Kickoff 4 Kids Foundation, Inc. works toward mitigating childhood obesity through teaching kids the value of increased activity and healthy living. During the annual sports camp, inner-city youth receive the experience of a lifetime. Children ages 7-15, spend an afternoon with pro athletes from around the National Football League, learning the overall value of increased activity, healthy eating, and athleticism.
A scholarship is distributed annually to an inner-city high school student in Huntsville, Alabama, Louisville, Kentucky, and Houston, Texas. In order to qualify, scholars must submit an essay for review by the foundation’s board of directors. The selected scholar will accompany the international division of the foundation, C.A.T.E. (Changing Africa Through Education), on its annual mission trip. Over the past four years, the foundation has given over $40,000 in scholarships to students attending the University of Houston, University of Louisville, and Alabama A&M University.
This year, the foundation’s focus is “Kickoff 4 Kids House”. We believe every child deserves a chance to win. Kickoff 4 Kids has impacted thousands of kids through our sports mentoring camps, and movies and motivational “Stay in School Rallies”.
The Kickoff 4 Kids scholarship, in partnership with the University of Houston, Alabama A&M and the University of Louisville, supports low income children from these cities, to bring the dream of a college education alive.
