Sunday School-LTC Lessons

A Weekly Christian Growth Series

The Holy Spirit is at work changing me to be a Christian or to be like Jesus Christ.

Bible Fact: The Bible is the infallible word of God and the primary authorized written source that gives Divine instructions to all true Christians.

Bible Text: John 16:7,13

Aim: To lead students to accept the Holy Ghost as the promise of Jesus Christ to them personally and to encourage them to be guided by His will for their decisions and daily living.

The devil and his cohorts were devising plans to get people to reject the Gospel. “Let’s go to them and say there is no God,” proposed one. Silence prevailed. Every devil knew that most people say that they believe in a supreme being. “Let’s tell them there is no hell, no future punishment for the wicked,” offered another. That was turned down, because men obviously have consciences which tell them that sin must be punished. The concave was going to end in failure when there came a voice from the rear: “Tell them there is a God, there is a hell and that the Bible is the Word of God. But tell them there is plenty of time to decide the question. Let them ‘neglect’ the Gospel, until it is too late.” All hell erupted with ghoulish glee, for they knew that if a person procrastinated on Christ, they usually never accept Him. (Resource, July/August, 1990.)

The only option to turn to from Satan and his controlling powers is to personally surrender to Jesus Christ. That is what Saul and every true Christian has done in order to know God the Father. This is one of the responsible works of the Holy Ghost (John 14:6).

I. In Acts 9:1-2 I am able to discover and list at least five (5) human mannerisms that unsaved people carry out to impress others while at the same time they reject Jesus Christ and His plan of salvation.

II. I am confident that Jesus Christ must be a part of the process of every true Christian’s salvation. I can identify the three (3) steps of Saul’s personal surrender to Christian salvation as he was spiritually interviewed by Jesus Christ in Acts 9:3,4.

III. I understand that Christian Salvation is spiritually orchestrated and fully administered by the Holy Spirit. I can list the three (3) things in Acts 9:5,6 that the Holy Spirit had Saul to do before he begin his personal mission for Jesus Christ.

IV. The salvation encounter with the Holy Spirit is a personal act. Those that were with Saul were impacted by what the Holy Spirit was doing to Saul. According to Acts 9:7,8 they were witnesses of the account but what three (3) things happen to them before they lead Saul by the hand.
