The Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova rivalry has left the tennis court and gotten very personal!

So, just weeks after Serena beat Maria for the French Open trophy, she fired shots in a Rolling Stone interview. Although she didn’t mention Maria by name, the interviewer and everyone else, including myself, assumed it was her.

A source close to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West has revealed the inspiration behind the unorthodox name, “North West.”

According to the insider, the name is meant to be more “inspirational than directional” and is meant to represent new heights. New parents, Kim and Kanye have even reportedly been going around saying: “What’s North of North? Nothing.” The insider also revealed that both Kim and Kanye believe that “North is their highest point together as a couple” and that the baby represents a kind of “North Star” for them.

This week has definitely been exciting in the hip hop community.  Artists Kanye West and J. Cole both released their albums on Tuesday, June 18, beginning the battle of who the best really is.  While other artists such as Kelly Rowland and Mac Miller have also released their albums, the real battle is between Kanye West’s “Yeezus” and J. Cole’s “Born Sinner.”

Some critics might argue that it is quality over quantity.  With the large quantity of songs that J. Cole had on his album, it helped to improve the quality of his work, completing his story. It seems, however, that all Kanye needed was ten songs to overwhelm his listeners.

Kendrick Lamar seems to be one of hip-hop’s latest saviors. The critical acclaim and fan praise still continues to pour in over his sophomore studio album, Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City, and is showing no signs of slowing down. His ability to illustrate the story of his life growing up in Compton so that the listener can visualize everything that he describes is just one of the reasons that Lamar has become a breath of fresh air for the world of hip-hop.

I immerse myself in every album the same as I do when I watch a movie. Each record is like a dream. The vibrant sounds of Yeezus come through singing, screaming, and spitting at me like an echo in a hollow chamber.

One day after Chad Johnson was released from jail due to his bad behavior in court, photos of Evelyn Lozada’s post-headbutt wound surfaced, and it is definitely worse than we imagined. Is it coincidental? Maybe, but my guess is, maybe not.

In case you’re not familiar with Chad Johnson’s love tap which took place in the Florida courtroom on June 10, let’s do a quick recap: Chad had originally been in court due to a charge of domestic violence when he head-butted former wife and Basketball Wives star, Evelyn Lozada in August 2012 after a heated argument.

Chad_Ochocinco_Johnson_court_smacking_buttChad Johnson and his lawyer were in a Florida courtroom on Monday, June 10 on a probation violation hearing. His lawyer was hoping to cop a plea deal so that Johnson could avoid jail time and he was seconds away from doing so. However, after the judge told Johnson that he had a great lawyer and that he should commend him for his efforts, Johnson went a little too far.
