Tonya Boyd and Cheree Dailey40, Fierce, and Fabulous!

Cheree Brown- Dailey recently celebrated the big 40th with a lavish All White Party held at her burb address.  The party’s backdrop featured white lounge chairs, white sofas, a dance floor, live band, large TV screens that displayed her pictures throughout the evening, two fully staffed bars with as much liquor as you could order,  as well as a Margarita machine. The backyard looked as if I had stepped into a chic Miami lounge!  Pappasito’s Catering was set up in the front of the home, complete with a smoking hot grill, serving a full Mexican Fajita Dinner.

Salmon Croquettes

Carolyn’s “Zydeco Salmon Croquettes

(From the French Croquer “to crunch”)

In the American South and especially Louisiana Salmon was a Friday dish prepared religiousy by Catholics since we could not eat meant on Friday. Another big reason, it was Cheap!!!! You could usually find it on the menu in lots of restaurants in Houston and the Groovy Grill comes to mind...

Deep fried, pan fried or baked, this comfort food is still popular today. Updated of course with seasoning and red bell peppers. This recipe is a basic version prepared by late mother Angelina. Serve with a nice green salad, grits, and a nice homemade RoMoulade “Talk about Good.”

Back to School VaccinationBack to School Tips!

Healthy Kids - Vaccinations

Making sure your child is up-to-date on all his or her vaccinations is essential for back-to-school health. In order to even enter kindergarten, there are a number of required vaccinations children must receive, though they vary from state to state. Check with your school system for specific requirements. Additionally, in New York, children must receive the booster for whooping cough in order to enter middle school.

Health and Fitness For The Busy Woman
By Valecia Weeks, CPT, LMT

Have you ever waved at an acquaintance across the room and your skin between your elbow and shoulder waved more than your hand?  I refer to that as the “second hand.” A common question for someone who has lost a lot of weight is, “what do I do with the excess skin?” Ladies, when we lose weight too swiftly, it’s inevitable that there will be excess skin that will need to be firmed up.
